Canadian Privacy Commissioner's audit report reviews privacy practices of Fintrac

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) will table its 2008-2009 annual report on public-sector privacy issues to Parliament this morning. The report will include the findings of two audits undertaken by the OPC in the past year, reports the Canadian Press. One explored the privacy practices of the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada, or Fintrac. The other looked into Transport Canada's no-fly list. After tabling, the report will be available on the OPC Web site and Privacy Commissioner Jennifer Stoddart and Assistant Privacy Commissioner Chantal Bernier will take questions at a 1 p.m. ET briefing at the National Press Theatre.
